William (Bill) was born on May 22, 1942, to the late Marion and Norma (Struthers) Gotchall. He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon, moved to the family farm north of Lebanon in 1947 and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1960. Bill was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving active duty in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. After completing his service, he moved back to McCook NE and earned his Associates degree in animal husbandry from McCook Community College. He met Sandra Wilhelm, fell in love, and they married on January 25, 1969. In 1977 they moved their family to Lebanon, NE and lived there for many years while he managed the Lebanon Co-op and raised their two children, Jason and Kristyl. Bill was a strong, committed father who was determined to do his best for his kids. Bill and Sandra moved to Wallace, NE and then Oberlin, KS. after the kids left home. They moved to McCook in 2015 and lived there until the time of his passing. Bill loved the outdoors and spent his spare time fishing, boating, and hunting. His dream was to travel the country in an RV after retirement, which he was able to do for a few years.
