Weta Mae Ross age 90 of Cambridge passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. Weta was born in Claritta, Oklahoma on March 26, 1921 to Grover C. and Bora E. (Crossno) Danner. She grew up in Texas and New Mexico. On April 25, 1943 Weta was united in marriage to Gerald B. Barnet Ross at Bovina, Texas. He preceded her in death in December 30, 1991. The couple lived several places before settling in Cambridge. Weta worked in the Cambridge school cafeteria later for the Cambridge Manor for 14 and years. She also babysat for numerous families in Cambridge over the years. Weta was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Gathering Place Church of Cambridge. Weta loved children and enjoyed her grandchildren. Weta was preceded in death by her parents: husband Barney; 3 brothers: Damon, Curtis and Justin Danner; 3 sisters: Lorraine Cockerham; Jean Skaja and Pat Weeks. Survivors include her 2 sons: Mike and wife Judy of Bartley; Tom and wife Joan of Onawa, IA; 5 grandchildren: Bret; Brad; Amie and husband Eddie Osius; Brian and wife Jill; Katie Ross. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2012, 2:00 PM at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, with Pastor Scott Moyer officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge. Casket will be closed to the public. In lieu of flowers memorials may be left in Wetas name to the Ronald McDonald House of Sioux City, IA.
