Wayne Virgil Baker

Wayne Virgil Baker, age 83, passed away on November 19, 2023 at the Scottsbluff Monument Rehabilitation and Care Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Wayne was born on September 18, 1940 to John and Madeline (Schilz) Baker in McCook, Nebraska. He attended school and graduated from St. Patrick School and then McCook High School with the class of 1959. Wayne worked several jobs over the years. He drove a truck for Gamble-Robinson, was the assistant manager at East Side Sheldon's Market, and also worked in maintenance at the McCook High School. After moving to North Platte, Nebraska, he was the maintenance person at the McKinley Education Center before he retired. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald Baker and Dale Baker. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2PM on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of McCook with Father Bernard Kimminau celebrating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery of McCook will follow the services at the church. Memorials are suggested to the family of Wayne Baker for future designation.
