Wanda Fern Conley

Wanda F. Conley passed away on November 29, 2021, at Community Hospital of McCook. She was born in Brewster, KS, on March 12, 1936, to Andy and Sylvia (Jensen) Pounds. Wanda attended Brewster High School and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science at Fort Hayes State College in 1961. She belonged to the Delta Cappa Gamma Sorority for Educators. She was united in marriage to Frank Conley on June 13, 1965, at the Pleasant Home Church in Brewster. Two children were born to this union: Debra and Mark. Frank preceded her in death on June 22, 2018. Wanda taught in the Communities of Ludell, Colby, Atwood, and McDonald, KS for ten years. She later was a substitute and a paraprofessional in the Speech Department in Atwood. After moving to McCook, she was happily employed by WalMart for 17 years. Wanda loved baking and spending time with family, she loved to sew, crochet, and make quilts for family and friends. Wanda was an avid reader and loved working crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing on her tablet. She was preceded in death by her husband,Frank; parents, Andy and Sylvia Pounds; grandson, Andy Conley; three brothers: Dee (Zeta) Pounds, Lyle (Dixie) Pounds, Larry (Janice) Pounds; daughter-in-law, Callie Conley. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Debra (Rich) Dack; son, Mark Conley all of McCook; grandchildren: Jesse (Sammie) Crumrine, Shandell (Daniel) Schaffert, David (Leah) Noe III, Zachary Noe, Miles Dack, Alexander Dack, Cameron Dack and Trinity Dack then Dawnovan Polfus, Cady Conley, Bryan Conley, Matthew Conley; Great grandchildren: Avery, David, Conner, Noah, Calvin, Brooklynn, Zayah, Aubree, Burton, Raya, Zayden and Cylas; also many loved cousins, nieces and nephews. In keeping with Wanda's request of cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook, NE, on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, with Mike Roth officiating. The inurnment will be in the Riverview Cemetery of McCook. In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be left in Wanda's name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
