Walter 'Fritz' Eugene Bauer

Walter Eugene Fritz Bauer age 77 of Culbertson, passed away at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. He was born in Culbertson on November 25, 1938 on the family farm to Walter M. and Mae (Unger) Bauer. Fritz attended grade school and graduated from Culbertson High school in 1956. He went to Milford Technical School studying Electronics. He joined the US Navy and was trained as a radar technician. He was honorably discharged in 1961. In 1966, he was united in marriage to Rita Lawrence in Colorado Springs. Rita preceded him in death on Apr 12,2009. Fritz was a co-owner of a retail tile store. He worked in Colorado, California, and Nevada. Upon retirement in 2006,he returned to his home state of Nebraska. Fritz enjoyed reading, engraving stone, enjoyed the outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife: Rita; infant daughter: Christina; brother: Robert Bob Bauer. He is survived by his brother: William Bill and wife Mary of McCook, NE; sister: Shirley of Kearney, NE.
