Vony Carfield

     Vony Carfield was born on March 11, 1952, in Oberlin, Kansas to Kenneth and Mary Majestie (Raburn) Carfield.

     On August 9, 1969, he married Lynn (Allen) Carfield in McCook, Nebraska. They were married until her passing in February of 2026. To this union they had two sons.

     Vony spent many years working in the oilfields as a pulling unit operator. He later went on to work for Parker, Kleins and the City of McCook.

     He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved his grandkids and loved spending time with them. He also loved to tell stories.

     Vony passed away at his home on August 22, 2026, at the age of 74. He was a lifelong resident of McCook. He was one of 7 children.

     Vony is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lynn; brothers, Griff, Ed and infant brother, William and twin sister Conie.

     Vony is survived by his sons, Terry (Shauna) Carfield of Farfield, NE and Adam (Charity) Carfield of McCook; grandson, Brent (Ashley) Carfield of McCook, Andrew Carfield and fiancé, Lizzie, of Richland Center, WI; granddaughter, Lacy (Thane) Terwilliger of Culbertson, NE and Carlee Carfield of McCook and Anthony Veronee of Hastings; great grandchildren, Tucker Ebert, Adrianna, Macy and Daxtyn Carfield of McCook, Adalee and Corbin, Weatherly and Emberlynn Carfield; brothers, Ken (Sherry)Carfield and Rex (Donna) Carfield; brothers-in-law Mike (Brenda) Allen, Pat (Diane) Allen and Sandy Schwab, and numerous extended family members.

     Cremation was chosen and memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday morning, August 28, 2026 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Burial in the Cedar Bluffs Cemetery in rural Decatur County, Kansas will follow services.
