Virginia Marie Spray

Virginia Marie Spray was born in Nampa, Idaho to Virgil and Vivian (Thomas) Frickey on September 17, 1937. Her loving family was by her side when she passed away early Thursday morning, May 23, 2024, at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska. In 1960, she was united in marriage to Glen Spray and to this union three children would be born, Richard, Judy and Vickie. Glens work in construction took the young family to many different communities until their final move to Trenton, Nebraska. Virginia was a hard worker; she worked in many area factories performing different types of skilled labor. Virginias true passion was to travel. She enjoyed time spent in Arizona and Las Vegas. She was a smalltown girl, but she truly loved to spend time in the city. After Glen passed away in 2000, Virginia purchased a motorhome and spent time traveling countless miles across the Continental United States. She was fiercely independent and enjoyed reading, crafting and sewing. Virginia also took time to remodel many area homes. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen; son, Richard; son-in-law, William (Baldy) Hay; siblings, John Frickey, Jaunita Humphreys and Ron Frickey; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Hopkins. Survivors include her daughters, Judy Hay of Trenton and Vickie (Mike) Christner of Hayes Center, Nebraska; grandchildren, Brian (Jessica) Christner of Hershey, Nebraska, Matthew Christner of Culbertson, Nebraska and Megan (Logan) Criswell of Chappell, Nebraska; great-granddaughter, Berkley Criswell; siblings: Verla Fister of Lebanon, Oregon, Carlyn Kraft of Oxford, Nebraska, Donna Smith of Roscoe, Nebraska, Rosie Lovenburg of Lincoln, Nebraska and Alice Majorins of Grand Island, Nebraska. Cremation was chosen and graveside memorial services are scheduled for 11AM on Saturday morning, June 1, 2024 at the Trenton Cemetery just outside Trenton, Nebraska with Chaplain Tyler Thiessen providing words of comfort.
