Valarian D. (Curly) Miller, 89 of Cambridge, NE passed away Tuesday July 12, 2011 in North Platte, NE. He was born March 31 1922 in Wellfleet, NE to Ralph D. Miller and Ester M. (Settergran) MIller. He graduated High School from the Nebraska School of Agriculture, Curtis in 1939 and served in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1944 during WWII. Curly ranched and farmed at Wellfleet until his retirement and moved to Cambridge. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge and Masonic Shriners and a member of the Furnas County Sheriffs Posse. Curly is survived by his wife of 62 years Donna (Johnson) Miller, sons Monte (Nancy) Miller of Windsor, CO, Dwight (Sandy) Miller of North Platte, NE and daughter Robyn Miller of San Antonio, TX, and 5 grandchildren Angela, David, Samuel, Zachary and Jessica, and a sister Betty Miller of Lincoln, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jewel and his brother Ralph. Services will be held Monday July 18, 2011 at 10:00am at Lockenour Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, NE. Internment will be Monday July 18, 2011 at Ft McPherson National Cemetery at 3:00pm in Maxwell, NE.Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program and left in His name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary or go on-line to woundedwarriorproject.org
