Stephen Earl Potth

Stephen Earl Potthoff age 60, passed away on February 23, 2014, at the Wedgewood Nursing Home in Grand Island, NE. He was born in McCook, NE on April 3, 1953, the son of Lloyd and Elvira (Walker) Potthoff. Stephen was baptized and confirmed at the Untied Memorial Methodist Church. He graduated from Republican Valley High School in 1971. He attended the McCook Junior College for 2 years and then graduated from the Kearney State College with a degree in marketing,. Stephen was an integral part of the family farming business. He also pursued a career in marketing. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and sports. Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Mabel Potthoff and Emmet and Josie Walker; his father Lloyd in December 2003. Stephen is survived by his mother: Elvira of McCook; brothers: Larry and wife Jodi Potthoff of Hastings, NE; Darrel and wife Joyce Potthoff of Lincoln, NE; sisters: Marianne Kornegay of St. Paul, NE; Dr. Sandra Potthoff of Stuart, FL; aunts and uncles: Burdeen Kasson of Beaver City; Leslie and wife Mary Walker of Littleton, CO; Fausta Walker of Arvada, Co; Hilda Walker of Stockton, CA; 2 nephews Adam and Brad. Private family services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook, NE with Pastor Doug Griger officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 9:00 AM till 7:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
