Sherrel Lou Adams

Sherrel Lou Adams, age 70, of McCook, Nebraska passed away at the Hillcrest Nursing home of McCook on Monday, April 17, 2017. She was born in Atwood, Kansas on November 11, 1946 to Denzel and Vesta (Brown) Gilbert. The family moved to Oberlin, Kansas where Sherrel attended and graduated from Decatur County High School. Sherrel served her country May 22, 1972 thru June 16, 1976 in the US Army attaining the rank of SGT as a nurse in Viet Nam Conflict. She was honorably discharged. On April 22, 1989, she was united in marriage to Carl Adams. She and Carl loved to dance and she enjoyed all family times. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Steve Alexander; and daughter, Tammy Winters. Sherrel is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Adams of McCook and Mike Adams of Columbus, NE; daughter, Brenda and husband, Mike Allen, of McCook; seven grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon and husband, LaVerne Frick, of Herndon, KS and Gwen Gilber of McCook, NE. Memorials may be given in her name. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm at St Albins Episcopal Church in McCook, with Pastor Brad Brauer officiating. Interment will take place at a future date in the Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook with Military Honors. Memorial Service
