Sheila Lee Colson

Sheila Lee Colson was born on June 23, 1949 in Hays, Kansas to Roy G. and Virginia (Loreg) Hageman. She graduated from Cambridge High School and went on to further her education by graduating from the Barns School of Business in Denver, Colorado.

On February 22, 1969, Sheila was united in marriage to Kenneth Colson in Cambridge, Nebraska. The couple lived on the farm in Frontier County until they moved to Cambridge, Nebraska in 1970. In Cambridge, Sheila kept the books and worked with Ken in the family business, Colson Construction. She also raised AKC registered puppies for many years.

Sheila enjoyed fishing and gardening. She will always be remembered for her amazing tomatoes! She was also an avid quilter and was a master of any type of stitching.

Sheila passed away on Friday May 10, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 74 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy G. and Virginia Hageman.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Colson of Cambridge; son, Tracey (Tricia) Colson of Buffalo, WY; daughter, Jenny (Trevor) Schaben of Kearney, NE; grandchildren: Kendal Colson of Gering, NE, David Schaben of Holly Ridge, NC, Kendrick Schaben of Port Orford, OR, Alex Colson of Mayville, WI: great-grandchildren: Daisy Schaben, Jett Schaben, Lane Colson, and Violet Schaben; and brothers and sisters, Bob (Linda) Hageman of Thorton, CO and Jeff (Julie) Hageman of Omaha, NE.

The family honored Sheila's wishes to have an immediate burial. Graveside services were held on Saturday evening, May 11, 2024, at the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge, Nebraska.

Memorials in Sheila's name are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences may be left at lockenour.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
