Sharon Kay Tines

Sharon Kay Tines age 73 of Cambridge passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born near Stockville, NE on May 12, 1944 to Marion and Fern (Halley) Brush. Sharon attended North Star country school near Stockville. She went school in Bartley and graduated from Bartley High School in 1962.

On January 25, 1964, she was united in marriage to Francis Edward Tines. The couple made their home in Cambridge. Sharon was employed after high school at Schilz Jewelry, J. C. Penny in McCook. Sharon worked as a cook at the Heritage Plaza for 10 years, Cambridge Senior Center for 10 years and Sexton Construction for 10 years. Sharon was instrumental in starting the Cambridge Red Hatters, was involved with Relay for Life, stamp club and helping senior citizens that need help. She and Ed helped to deliver volunteers groceries and commodities to those who were shut in. Sharon was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Sharon and Ed enjoyed camping and taking their camper to many lakes in Nebraska and to Bear Lake in Utah. Going to lunches with the ladies was a time she enjoyed. Sharon loved to be around family especially her grand and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Fern Brush and a son-in-law: Mike Boen.

Sharon is survived by her husband: Ed: 2 daughters: Annette Boen of Claremore, OK; Christine and husband Lance Krejdl of Eatonville, WA; 2 grandchildren: Jonathan and wife Joanna Boen of Chelsey, OK and Justin and wife Desiree Boen of Claremore, OK; 3 great grandchildren: Alexis, Chase and Titus; sister: Bev Brush of Sumner, WA; 2 brothers: Roger and wife Betty Brush of McCook, NE; Rodney and wife Mary Brush of Ashland, NE.

Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening, December 3, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cambridge with Chuck Tines. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Ken Wehr officiating. Interment will be in the Bartley Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on Sunday December 3, 2017 from 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM. Memorials may be left in Sharons name to the Furnas County Relay for Life.
