Selma 'Sam' Jean Brunswick

Selma Sam J. Brunswick age 72 of McCook, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 24, 2016. She was born in McCook, NE on March 13, 1944 to Eugene E. and Violet (Krieger) Martin. Selma attended school in McCook. She was married to Marion Brunswick on April 27, 1968. And he preceded her in death on November 20, 2014. Sam was employed over the years at restaurants in McCook and managed many of them: Chief, Godfathers Pizza. Later she worked at the Sweet Briar Clothing Store and also Conrads Clothing. Sam was a member of the Norris Avenue Church. In her younger years she was an accomplished oil painter. She enjoyed playing card, gardening, yard work antiques and cooking. She was known for her chili and lasagna. Sam belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles of McCook. Sam was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela and husband, Steve Brunswick, of Cottage Grove, OR; Tamera Clapp of McCook; Corina Fritz and Ben Trosper of McCook; son, Christopher Brunswick of McCook; 11 grand Children; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services are planned for Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Memorials may be left in her name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
