Sandra Ellen Stevens

Sandra Ellen "Sandy" Stevens passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Bryan LGH Hospital in Lincoln surrounded by her family. She was 72 years old. Sandy was born on January 31, 1945 to parents, Alvin Dale and Doris Irene (Denny) Alberts at Ainsworth, Nebraska. She graduated from Page High School, Page, Nebraska with the class of 1963. On August 7, 1977, she was united in marriage to Van Ray Stevens. Together they had a son, Greg Stevens, raised her four sons, Rickie, Dale, David, and Ronnie. Besides being a busy homemaker and mother Sandy worked at Sehnerts Bakery, the Derby Station, Iris Restaurant and Franks Market. Sandy was a member of the United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved painting ceramics, Artex painting, knitting, sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed the outdoors which included fishing, hunting, and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed watching television especially westerns shows and wrestling. Preceding her in death were her father, Alvin Alberts; step-father, Goodwin Fenny; mother, Doris (Denny) Fenny; her husband, Van Stevens; her son, Rickie Bose; infant sister; and brothers, Craig Alberts and Steven Alberts. She is survived by her loving sons, Dale Bose and wife, Darla, of McCook, David Bose and wife, Kala, of Oberlin, KS, Ronnie Bose and wife, Michelle, of Kanorado, KS and Greg Stevens of McCook; sister, Linda Heiser of Rio Rico, AZ; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Thursday, August 10, 2017, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. to greet friends. Funeral service will be Friday, August 11, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook, Nebraska. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook has been entrusted with the arrangements. 01/31/1945 Visitation
