Roy Jacob Ten Bensel

Roy Jacob ten Bensel, 95 of Cambridge, NE went home to meet our Lord on his family farm southeast of Cambridge, NE on Friday December 22, 2017. Roy was the second oldest of ten children born on his family farm on March 28th, 1922 to Henry J. and Millie (Thompson) tenBensel. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1941.

Roy loved farming, ranching, and his family. He could be seen at many Cambridge school events.

He was preceded in death by his wife,Betty Louise Sughroue ten Bensel in 1980; his son Dwayne;2 daughters: Linda Chloupeck; Karen Houser; 2 brothers: Richard and his wife Joanne; Ernset and wife Alvie; 3 sisters: Golda tenBensel; Ethel Yeager; Ruth Reilly; sister-in-law: JoAnn tenBensel; brother-in-law: Darrell Palmer.

Roy is survived by his 4 sons: Ronald; David and wife Shirley; Kenneth; and Scott;; son in law Doug Houser; grandchildren William and Jenny ten Bensel, Joshua tenBensel, and Janae Hood, Amanda Price, Lynn ten Bensel, Nick and Tusty ten Bensel, Jacob, Luke, John, and Grace ten Bensel, Charles, Marshall, and Dalton Houser; many great grandchildren and some great great grandchildren; 2sisters: Joyce and husband Kennth Ross of Fort worth, TX; June Palmer of Wilsonville; 2 brothers: Carl and wife Ella Rea and Paul all of Cambridge; long time friend Sharon Riggs.

He was laid to rest on December 24th 2017 at the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge, NE. A memorial service will be held on January 5th, 2018 at 10:30 am at The United Methodist Church in Cambridge, with a lunch to follow the service.
