Ronald Eugene Weidner

Ronald Eugene Weidner, age 68, was born on June 24, 1955, to Herman C. and Annice M. (Kattau) Weidner in McCook, Nebraska and passed away on February 12, 2024, at the family farm southwest of Culbertson. Ron attended country school #41 until 6th grade when the school closed. He then attended Culbertson High School, graduating in 1973. He was a farmer alongside his dad his entire life. He took great pride in growing a good crop of wheat and enjoyed seeing the baby calves born in the spring. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Culbertson and was a lifelong member. Ron enjoyed antique tractors, collecting farm toys, feeding the songbirds and turkeys. His two pet cats, Romeo, and Barnie were his faithful companions. Ron enjoyed watching the History Channel on TV. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Carl F. and Dora Weidner, Fred, and Katie Kattau; aunts, uncles, and cousin. He is survived by a sister, Marilyn of Lincoln; cousins, Carleen Andersen, Bill Weidner, Russell Weidner, Diane Gropp, Denise Slama, Debra Ourada, Doug Kattau, and their families. He will be sadly missed. Cremation was chosen by the family. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Bradley Rick officiating.
