Ronald Gene Kruger was born on January 6, 1957 to William Bryan and Betty Louise (Marshall) Kruger in Brush, Colorado. He was one of nine children in this blended family. On April 4, 1981, Ron was united in marriage to Linda Calvin in McCook, Nebraska. Ron and Linda made McCook their home and soon welcomed their children, Ashley and Adam. Ron worked in the oil fields for many years prior to going back to school and receiving his associates degree and HVAC certification. He owned and operated Kruger Heating and Air, serving families and businesses all across Southwest Nebraska. Ron was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook. He valued time spent with family above everything else. Ron enjoyed playing cards and was a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Ronald Kruger passed away early Monday morning, October 3, 2022 at his home in McCook. He was 65 years of age. He was preceded in death by his father, William "Bill" Kruger; siblings, Alberta Hannah and Albert "Bud" Kruger; uncle, Arthur "Myrne" Marshall; nephew, JR Knifley; niece, Heather Newcomb; and father-in-law, Warren Calvin. Ron will be remembered by his wife, Linda Kruger; children, Ashley (Eric) Stoddard and Adam Kruger and fianc, Lesley Ruggles; mother, Betty Kruger; mother-in-law, Gladys Calvin; siblings: Bill (Pam) Kruger, Gary (Jimai) Kruger, Steve (Debbie) Cervantes, Betty "Tootie" Denton, Cindy (Wade) Knifley-Free, and Annette (William) Newcomb; sister-in-law, Roberta Kruger; brother-in-law, Gregg (Jane) Calvin; sister-in-law, Karen (Dave) Custer; and a host of extended family and friends. Cremation was chosen. Memorial services will be held at 10:30am, Friday morning, October 7, 2022 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating and Jim Jones providing words of comfort. Inurnment will follow services in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook. Memorials are suggested to the family of Ron Kruger for future designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com.
