Roger Allen Lambert

Roger Allen Lambert was born on December 18, 1960 in McCook, Nebraska to Clifford Dale and Dorothy Jean (Jussel) Lambert. He attended school in Trenton, Nebraska and graduated from Trenton High School.


Roger married Roberta Kay Reichert on December 19, 1997. They made a home in Trenton until 2007 when they moved to Atwood, Kansas. Roger was a truck driver for most of his life, spending countless hours on the road. At the time of his passing, Roger was employed by Beaver Valley Supply in Atwood; he had worked there for thirteen years. Roberta and Roger moved to Bird City, Kansas in 2021.


Roger was a fun-loving onery guy that enjoyed playing jokes on others and hearing jokes in return. He was a jack-of-all-trades and a helpful and giving individual. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He also loved mushroom hunting and reading. Roger had a passion for traveling, especially visiting natural hot springs. Roger was a tough and protective person that would do anything for his family and friends.


Roger passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025 at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. He was 64 years of age.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Dale and Dorothy Jean; father-in-law, Robert Reichert; mother-in-law, Betty Reichert; brother-in-law, Ronald Reichert; and nephews Dustin and Ryan Scott.


Survivors include his wife, Roberta Kay Lambert; children: Misty (Josh) Cosler, Glen Johnston, Emily (Rex) Weishapl, and Katie Lambert; grandchildren: Nathan, Holly, and Isabelle Cosler, Jacob and Michael Johnston, and Xavier, Elina, and Iris Weishapl; siblings, Jim (Carolyn Rewtizer) Lambert, Terry Lambert and Susan Dishman; sister-in-law, Becky (Jeff) Mizer; brother-in-law, Richard (Pam) Reichert; aunts and uncle, Delores (Richard) Stahly, Betty Yonkers, Bernadine Wehner; grand-cats, Thunder and Storm; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, many cherished cousins, and countless friends.


Visitation will be held on Thursday afternoon, May 8, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Roger's family will be present to greet friends from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM.


Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday morning, May 9, 2025 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating. Cremation will follow services and burial in the Benkelman Cemetery in Benkelman, Nebraska will take place at a later date.


Memorials are suggested to the family of Roger Lambert for future designation. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
