Roger L. Eschliman age 79 of McCook, died at his home on January 23, 2014. He was born in Clarks, Nebraska on April 23, 1934 to Leo and Norma(Winesmith) Eschliman. He attended school in Clarks graduating from High School in 1952. Roger attended the University of Nebraska for one year. On March 31, 1953 he was united in marriage to June Zlomke, she preceded him in death in 2004. Roger and the family moved often due to his employment. They lived in Silver Lake, Central City, Lincoln, Omaha and to McCook. Roger followed his employment across the state of Nebraska doing many different jobs. He was employed as a mechanic, installed water treatment systems and as a bus driver for Continental Trailways Bus Line and later Arrow Bus Lines. He and the family moved to McCook in 1970, when Roger began teaching auto mechanics at the McCook High School. He taught for 8 years. He was the owner of Eschlimans trailer sales just east of McCook. Roger enjoyed his pets many of which came from the Humane Society of McCook. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Indianola, an avid grower of plants and just like to tinker. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife; June; a grandson Tony Eschliman; and 2 sons-in-law: William White and Chuck Jansen. Roger is survived by his 3 daughters: Kay White of Moyock, NC; Kathy Jansen of Paxton; Kim and husband Glen Tietz of McCook; 4 sons: Randy and wife Carmen of McCook, NE; Rick and wife Theresa of Indianola, NE; Rodney of McCook, NE; Rex and wife Jennifer of McCook, NE; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Dale and wife Doris of Boone, IA; Dennis and wife Marilyn of Vancouver, WA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Rev. Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Interment will be in the Indianola Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday January 27, 2014 from 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 9:00 AM till 7:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
