Rodeny Dean Sisson

Rodney Dean Sisson, 79, departed this life on Sunday, October 16 at his home in Greeley, Colorado.

"Rod" was born to Leslie Robert and Lila Faye (Richard) Sisson on May 18th, 1937 in Cambridge Nebraska. He graduated from Cambridge High School and entered the US Air Force at the age of 17, spending four years in military service, the last two in Japan. On July 1, 1961, he married the former Betty Jane McClintock of Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The two settled in Hudson, Colorado, where Rod began and finished a career with Mountain Bell Telephone (later AT&T).

Rod loved serving his family, church and community. He taught Sunday School, and was a volunteer fireman, Scoutmaster, and longtime Hudson Sanitation Board member. As a beloved hobby, Rod began a car sales "side-business", frequenting the regional car auctions and making his customers happy over the course of 55 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and staying busy with home improvement projects.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, and their children Randy and Sonja Sisson of Evergreen, Colorado, and Wendy and Alex Zvansov of Mountain View, California, and their two teenage grandsons, Max and Blake of Evergreen.

A funeral service and reception will be held at 11: 00 am, Friday October 21 at Westside Baptist Church, 6260 W 4th St, Greeley, CO. A burial service will take place at the town cemetery in Cambridge, Nebraska, at 2:00 pm Central Daylight Time, Saturday October 22. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado,
