Robert Lee Sutton

Robert L. Sutton died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at Montclair Nursing Home in Omaha, Neb., at the age of 87. He was born July 12, 1933, on a farm near Stratton, NE. to Paul and Selma (Ross) Sutton. In 1951, Robert joined the United States Navy. On June 1, 1952, Robert married Beverly Ewald in Yuma, Arizona. They resided in San Diego, CA., for four years before moving to New Port, R.I., where they spent two years before moving to Norfolk, VA. They spent six years in Hawaii before Robert retired from the United States Navy in 1971. They moved to Palisade, NE., in 1981, where he spent the remainder of his life before moving into the Montclair Nursing Home in Omaha, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly (Ewald) Sutton, parents and siblings. He is survived by his three daughters, Paula (Wes) Yeager of McCook, Kathy (Brian) Day of Denver, CO., and Valerie (Michael) Weigel of Omaha; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Jason) Ritterbush, Emily Weigel, Andrew Yeager and Alyssa (Ron) Stryker; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Ritterbush; relatives; and friends. Funeral services will be in a family service Monday, December 21, 2020 at Herrmann Jones Memorial Chapel in McCook. Interment will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, North of Stratton, Nebraska. Visitation will be at Hermann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 2:00 pm till 6:00 pm with the family present from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Memorials may be given in his name to the Great Plains Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America. Herrmann Jones Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
