Robert Terry Korb, Sr.

Robert "Terry" Korb, Sr., age 76, of McCook, NE passed away at the Kearney Regional Medical Center on Thursday, June 14, 2018. He was born in McCook, NE on February 17, 1942, to adoptive parents Raleigh and Alma (Hubbard) Korb. He graduated from Red Willow High School in 1959. He farmed with his family until joining the US Army on March 18, 1964. He served in Germany and was Honorably Discharged in 1970 from the Army Reserve. Upon return from the service, Terry farmed northwest of Indianola. After retiring from farming, he was a mechanic at both Indianola CO-OP stations for several years. Terry was united in marriage to Thelma Jean Livengood, on September 13th, 1969 in Eaton, CO. She preceded him in death on September 26th, 1983. Terry enjoyed Cornhusker Volleyball and Cubs Baseball on WGN. He was a semi-professional photographer at one time. He was a lapidary enthusiast (rock hound) cutting and polishing and making jewelry and other items. In 2008, Terry took a trip to Eugene, OR and found his birth mother, Ila Lewis. He gained more information about his birth family and father who was killed in WWII over Japan. Terry was a member of the American Legion and the past-Post Commander of the VFW of Indianola. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; and son-in-law: Mario Inchauriga. Terry is survived by his daughter, Amy Inchauriga of Hutchinson, KS; two sons, Robert "Terry" Korb, Jr. and William Korb both of McCook; and two grandchildren, Mariana and Abby. Memorials may be left in his name at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018; from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel.
