Richard E Shaw

Richard E. Shaw age 69 of Wilsonville passed away at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on February 28, 2015. He was born in Lodi, Ohio on November 13, 1945 to Everett and Florence (Yergin) Shaw. Richard attended school in Medina, Ohio.

On July 18, 1964 he was united in marriage to Dora Gasser. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last July. Richard had worked a a police officer in Lodi in the late 1960s. For the bulk of his working life, he was employed in the transportation industry as a driver and dispatcher. He and Dora lived in Colorado, Texas, southeastern Nebraska, before retiring in Wilsonville. While in Wilsonville, he joined the volunteer fire department serving for a number of years receiving recognition for his service. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, and all activities outdoors. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Harriett.

He is survived by his wife Dora of Wilsonville, NE: daughter: Tina Wintz of Auburn, NE; 2 sons: Richard Shaw Jr. and wife Leslie of Gainesville, GA

Chad and wife Lisa of Greeley, CO; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother: Herald Shaw and sister Janet and husband Bob Phillips all of Ohio.

A celebration of life is being planned in Wilsonville on June 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in Richard's name. On-line condolences may be left at lockenour.com.
