Richard Kent Schlager

Richard Kent Schlager, age 80, of McCook, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb. Richard was born Sept. 29, 1939, to Jake and Vaughneta Schlager. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1957 and attended McCook College He married Judy (Bauer) Schlager on March 21, 1959. This union was blessed with two children, Lori and Kent. Richard was a farmer for many years and was then employed by Parker Hannifin. His many hobbies included golf, trap shooting, hunting, fishing, football and playing pinochle. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Richard taught his children that a hard work ethic and integrity were principles to live by. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. Surviving Richard is his wife of 61 years, Judy; daughter, Lori Pape; son, Kent and wife, Deena; four grandchildren, Isaac, Jared, Alyssa and Sydney; and three great-grandchildren, Parker, Sophia and Emma.
