Richard "Dick" Sayer age 83 of Axtell, NE died at the Kearney Regional Hospital on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was born in Cambridge on April 6, 1932 to William and Mabel (Ridpath) Sayer . Dick grew up in rural Holbrook and Cambridge with 8 brothers and 5 sisters. > > Dick served in the US Army in Korea from 1953 -1954. Upon his return he met and married the love of his life Joy Zeller of McCook in 1956. Dick and Joy were blessed with four children: Rocky, Lynette, Cindy and Rick. > > Dick work construction and heavy equipment leading to Speedway Transportation for 20 years until his retirement. He enjoyed yard working, camping, working with his hands and spending time with his whole family. > > He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Terry Sayer. > > Dick is survived by his wife Joy (Jode), sons: Rocky and fianc Barb of Republican City, NE; Rick and wife Suzy of Grand Island, NE; daughters: Lynette and husband Bret Weaver of Axtell, NE; Cindy and fianc Brad Nelson of Kearney, NE 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 7 brothers and 5 sisters. > > > > Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015, 10:30 am at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge with Pastor Bret Hienricks.
