Richard 'Dick' F Reiners

Richard "Dick" F. Reiners, age 77 formerly of Indianola passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, NE. He was born in McCook, NE on July 16, 1942 to Franklin and Irene (Cotton) Reiners. Dick attended Red Willow High School and graduated in 1961. On July 31, 1976 Dick wed Elsie Cook in Amherst, NE, to this union two children were born: Kevin and Alissa. Dick had a variety of jobs in his lifetime from farming, working for the Cambridge COOP, and for 14 years worked as the maintenance man at the Indianola housing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council of Indianola, St Catherines Catholic Church. In his younger days Dick raced go-karts and stock cars. Before his health deteriorated Dick enjoyed pheasant hunting with his son and nephews. Dick could be seen at the Rocket Inn in Indianola and the Caseys quick shop for either tea or coffee and conversation. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother: William; sister Connie Reiners and stepson Bryon Scott. Dick is survived by his daughter: Alissa and husband Adam Papiernik of Ord; son: Kevin and wife Kate Reiners of Elwood; step children: Amber and husband Rick Gleason of Palisade, NE; Kerry and wife Jo Hanna Scott of McCook; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren: sisters: Carol Van Cleave of Trenton; Colette Reiners of Denver, CO; brother: Don and wife Lois Reiners of Indianola. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook with Father Ken Wehrs. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St.Catherines Catholic Church in Indianola, NE with Father Dan Rayer officiating. Family will be having a private inurnment at a later date. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
