Richard 'Dick' Warren Linnemeyer

Richard W. Dick Linnemeyer age 93 of McCook passed away at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook on Thursday, September 15, 2016. He was born near Curtis, Nebraska on September 7, 1923 to William and Lulu (Wells) Linnemeyer. Dick graduated from Curtis High School. Dick served his country in WWII in the Pacific Theatre at Luzon and Philippines Islands from 1943 till 1946. He again served his country in the Korean Conflict from 1950 till 1951. On March 31, 1946 he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Loghry. Dick initially worked as an auto mechanic in Curtis, NE before opening a floor covering store in McCook. Dick, and his wife Jean, ran McCook Floor Covering for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the McCook Masonic Lodge #135 and was a Shriner. Dick was the Past Grand Master of the Lodge and a member of the Shrine Band. He served as the custodian for the lodge for many years. Dick enjoyed golf, bowling, tinkering with wood working and making wood toys for all the kids and grandkids. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters: Julie Thomson and Susan Linnemeyer, 4 siblings: Doris Phillips, Veda Yeager, Leona Nichols and Lewis Linnemeyer. He is survived by his wife Norma Jean: Linnemeyer, daughter: Connie and husband David Haller and son: Rick Linnemeyer all of McCook; eight grandchildren: Mandy White, Ben Linnemeyer, Kody Linnemeyer, Lexie Thomsen, Tomika Haller, Danielle Linnemeyer, Andrew Linnemeyer, and Kaitlin Haller - as well as eight great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM Memorial Service
