Richard Lee Lambert

Richard Lee Lambert of Danbury passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, NE. He was 77 years old. Richard was born on September 16, 1941 at Almena, KS to parents Vern E. and Florence Madora (Smith) Lambert. Rich went to a country school near Almena and then started high school at Densmore High where he participated in basketball and baseball. Richard eventually moved to the Hamlet, NE community where he lived for several years near the Stinking Water and Frenchman River. He worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. In later years he worked for a fertilizer department until he retired. On December 30, 1992 he was united in marriage to Debra Fisher in Imperial. Richards hobbies included horseback riding, roping, and horseshoeing. He also enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, Vern and Florence Lambert; and brother, Gary Lambert. Survivors include his loved ones, Debra Lambert of Danbury; son, Kevin Lambert and wife, Tracy, of Oxford; daughter, Kimberly Lambert of California; step-son, Travis Eskew and wife, Fawn, of Oberlin, KS; sisters, Doris Garten of Pawhuska, OK, Bonnie and husband, Al Plummer, of Burns, KS and Kay Lambert of Wakarusa, KS; brothers, Clifford Lambert and wife, Glenna, of Vado, NM, Larry Lambert and wife, Joanne, of Valley Center, KS, Joe Lambert of Norton, KS and Doug "Corky" Lambert and wife, Vicky, of Murray, KY; ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Memorials may be given in his name. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 1:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook, NE, with Terry McCorkle officiating. The family would like to invite the congregation for refreshments and a time of sharing memories immediately following the service.
