Rex Remington passed away from this world on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at his home in McCook. He was 86 years old. Rex was born February 19, 1931 in Danbury, Nebraska to Wilbur and Minnie (Schaa) Remington. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1948. Rex married Joyce Jordan on December 16, 1951 at the United Methodist Church in McCook. They had six children: Don, Charlyce, Carolyn, Richard, Robert, and Billie Joe. Rex and Joyce also raised two grandchildren, Donna and Margie, and later adopted Margie. Rex was a lifetime farmer in the Danbury area. He was an avid hunter and longtime NRA member. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had many friends and acquaintances. Rex was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Carolyn and Billie Joe. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of McCook; his children, Don and Mary Remington, Richard and Jacci Remington, Robert Remington, Charlyce and David Schnell, and Margie and Roger Buboltz; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in his name to the Danbury Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The family will be present from 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. to greet friends. Funeral service will be Monday, May 22, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with Bracken Sheldon officiating. Burial will follow at the Hamburg Cemetery, Danbury, Nebraska. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation
