Reuben Carrol Echols, 72, of Hayes Center, Nebraska, passed Dec 4th, 2018. Reuben was born to William and Louise (Steward) Echols, July 11th, 1946 in Colorado Springs, CO He graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Peoples Bible College. Reuben married Nancy Quinn in 1970. He is survived by his son, Fredric Echols, his wife Pamela and their three children -Arthur, Annora, and August- of Bend, Oregon; and son, William Echols and his three children -Elisabeth, Lydia, and Hayley- of Royal Center, Indiana. He also leaves to cherish his memory five siblings, Paul Echols of Hayes Center, NE, James (Lois) Echols of Sugar Creek, OH, Aaron (Marian) Echols of Alliance, OH, Daniel (Patricia) Echols of Colorado Springs, CO, and Philip (Mary) Echols of Colorado Springs, CO. He was preceded in death by his Parents, wife Nancy Echols, brother Mark Echols, sister Esther (Echols) Hicks, sister-in-law Roberta Echols, and Daughter-in-law Deborah (Bigger) Echols. Reuben was an architectural designer and craftsman who designed and built his first house at 17 years of age, and became a licensed contractor in the state of Colorado by age 24. He was passionate about design and quality and still involved full time in his work. He designed and built many commercial and residential projects including several restaurants, firehouse, electrical substation, homes, as well as numerous art and furniture projects. He designed the Palisade Veterans Memorial and donated all his labor to complete the project. Reuben had vision and inspiration going forward and was ready to launch a new company selling custom light fixtures and chandeliers that he created. He had a passion for his community, serving in various capacities in local government and community development. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Monday, 2:00 PM CT, Dec 17, 2018, at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, 607 Norris Ave, McCook, NE 69001. A coffee/dessert reception will follow, all who wish to stay are welcome. Rev. Paul Bigger will officiate the ceremony.
