Raymond Leo Havel

Raymond L. Havel, age 69, of Bartley, NE, died at the home of his daughter near Lexington, NE on July 8, 2010. He was born at Atwood, KS on March 6, 1941 to Ralph and Ruth (Allen) Havel. Raymond grew up in Kansas. He worked as a welder and as a farmer/rancher for most of his life. He broke and rode horses. He lived in Ludell, KS, later in Yakama, WA, Hays Center, Palisade and McCook and Bartley, NE. He enjoyed hunting. He also raised Collies, Blue Heelers, Poodles and mini-pins dogs. He is preceded in death by his father; Ralph; a brother Leonard and a great-grandson Derrick Hagen. He is survived by 3 daughters: Deb and husband Clinton Witt of Lexington; Cherie and husband Brian Schmidt; Jody and husband Denny Hagen all of Hays, KS; 1 son: Billy Ray Havel of McCook, NE; mother Ruth Havel of Oberlin, KS; 2 brothers: Edward and wife Karol Havel of Imperial, NE; Gary of Atwood, KS; 3 sisters: Janice and husband Gary Carson of Duncan, NE; Beverly and husband Marvin Whithington of Atwood, KS; Dorothy Mary and husband Phil Harry of Colby, KS; 6 grandchildren; 2 foster grandchildren; 16 great grand children. A memorial services will be Friday, July 23, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Evangelical Free church in McCook, NE. May left in Rays name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge, NE.
