Ralph Burdette Weintz of McCook, NE passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Elkhorn, NE. He was 83 years old. Ralph was born on June 21, 1932 to parents, Ralph John and Eva Leona (Cochran) Weintz in McCook. He graduated from Red Willow High School. On July 15, 1952 he entered the US Navy and served on the U.S.S. Chara during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on July 14, 1960. On May 26, 1960 he was united in marriage to Judy Ann Vodehnal at the Methodist Church in McCook. To this union two sons were born. Ralph worked for the McCook Fire Department for over 23 years and also filled fire extinguishers. He later became owner/operator of Weintz Construction where he worked until his health prevented him from working. Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church, McCook Eagles, and the Masons. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and Husker Fan. He enjoyed raising pigeons including Trumpeters, Kings and Tumblers. Preceding him in death were his son, Phillip John Weintz; parents, Ralph and Eva Weintz; one brother, Wilbur Weintz; and three sisters, Dolores Liess, Betty Jane Weintz and Phyllis Grenier. Survivors include his wife, Judy Weintz of McCook; son, Allen Weintz and wife, Kendra, of McCook; six grandchildren, Alicia Weintz, Johnathan Weintz, Jeffery Weintz, Tony Weintz, Nathan Weintz and Trey Weintz; and three great-grandchildren, Paige Witt, McKenzie Witt and Warren Witt; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
