Phyllis Eileen Wilcox passed away peacefully at Kinship Pointe in McCook, Nebraska on Saturday, April 18, 2026; at the age of 96.
Phyllis was born September 13, 1929, in McCook, Nebraska to Elizabeth (Kautz) Wagner and John G. Wagner.
She grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1948.
She married Robert D. Wilcox, June 26, 1949. Five children were born to this union.
She is survived by her children: Nancy (Wilcox) Stritt and husband, John Stritt of Kearney, NE; Robert D. Wilcox Jr, and wife, Cindy, of McCook NE; Gary Wilcox of Montgomery, TX; Richard Wilcox and wife, Lisa of McCook, NE; and Kimberly (Wilcox) Carpenter and husband, Michael of Hiawatha, KS. She is also survived by her brother, Wilbur Wagner of Denver, CO; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Wilcox, Sr. in 2006; parents, John and Elizabeth (Kautz) Wagner; three brothers, Harold Wagner, Dale Wagner, Donald Wagner; sister, Virginia Van Kirk; sisters-in-law, Darlene Wagner, Gay Wagner and Evelyn Wagner.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Memorials in Phyllis’ name are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to a charity supporting veteran’s issues of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook.
