Phillip Ray Lahman, age 61, of Oberlin, KS passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society in Atwood, KS after a long battle with cancer. Phil was born on May 2, 1954 in Colby, KS to Howard and Joanne (Nall) Lahman. He lived with his family in Winona, KS until 1963 when he moved with his family to Brush, CO. He earned his Eagle Badge in Boy Scouts in 1968. He graduated from Brush High School in 1972. Phil attended Ames College in Greeley, CO for Police Science and went to work for the Port of Entry in Idaho Springs, CO. He later attended Colorado Aero Tech and received his A&P License. He worked in California and Arizona in research and development and later in Lafayette, LA for PHI Helicopters. He is survived by his parents, Howard and Joanne Lahman of McCook, NE; sister, Melinda Speaker of McCook; nephew, Jason Speaker of Sulphur Springs, TX; niece, Tawnya Byarlay of Clay Center, KS; great-nieces, Emily and Sarah Byarlay and great-nephew, Nathanial Byarlay. Phils wishes were to be cremated. There will be no public services. Inurnment will be in the Winona Cemetery at a later date.
