Oneata May 'Sis' Fisher

Oneata May Sis Fisher passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at Hillcrest Nursing Home. She was 89 years old. Sis was born on July 21, 1926 at Decatur County, Kansas to parents Julian and Bernice (Crook) Copley. She attended Danbury Schools. On September 11, 1950 she was united in marriage to Ame Ernest Fisher at Atwood, Kansas. To this union four children were born. He preceded her in death in 1983. Besides being a busy mother and homemaker Sis was owner and operator of a restaurant known as the Danbury Cafe for many years. She later worked in home health taking care of many people in need. Siss hobbies included gardening, fishing, sewing, playing cards, and doing crafts. She loved to dance often going to the singles dances. Her grandchildren were the most important thing in her life. Preceding her in death were her parents, Julian and Bernice Copley; sister, Connie Maine; two brothers, Harold Bovey and Mel Copley; and special friend, Ralph Burton. Survivors include her two daughters, Debra Deb and husband, Richard Lambert, of Danbury and Denise Dee and husband, Mitchell Sis, of McCook; two sons, Kerry Fisher of Portland, OR and Kendal Fisher and wife, Angie, of Oberlin, KS; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Copley of Pueblo, CO; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Memorials may be given in her name. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 5, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Terry McCorkle officiating. Burial will follow in the Sherman Cemetery, rural Decatur County, Kansas. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation
