Nellie Jean Trosper

January 29, 1926 — January 18, 2013

Nellie Jean Trosper went meet her heavenly Father on January 18, 2013 at the age of 86 years. She entered this world on January 23, 1926 to Harry and Mabel (Barnhart) Williams on the family farm north of Cambridge.

She attended country school then graduated Valedictorian from Cambridge High School in 1943. She received her Normal School Certificate and taught country school north of Cambridge in 1944 and 1945.

Nellie Jean married Fredrick Trosper on February 24, 1945 in Norton, Kansas. To this union three children were born: Norman, Connie and Don.

Nellie Jean and Fred farmed south of Cambridge from 1946 till 1953 when they moved to town. She owned and operated the Frontier Caf from 1957 till 1989. when health concerns caused her to retire.

She loved her garden, flowers, sewing and quilting. The Cambridge Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers were her favorite teams. She was a life member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: brothers: Irwin; Dale; Robert; Willard and a sister: Wilma.

Surviving Nellie Jean are her husband: Fred; daughter: Connie; son Norman and wife Joyce all of Cambridge; Don and wife Janet of Wilsonville, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law: Pauline Williams of Clarksville, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be held at the First Congregational Church oin Cambridge on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Bill Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Memorial may be left in her name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com
