     Nancy Lee Hubert Miller, of McCook Nebraska, died July 5, 2026.

     Nancy was born at home on April 8, 1935 to Sidney and Mary (Roach) Hubert.

     Nancy Lee attended McCook Schools, graduating from McCook High School and McCook Community College. She received her B.A. Degree from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley and a Masters in Administration from Point Loma College in San Diego, California.

     During her high school and college years, Nancy Lee sold and delivered newspapers in McCook and held jobs at the Fox and Bison Theater, YMCA, McCook Daily Gazette, KBRL Radio Station, Standard Oil CO and the Wacker, Elliot and Wacker Sale Barn.

     Nancy Lee was a teacher and coach in the Mapleton, Oregon School District, the Monterey, California Public Schools, Lowell High School in San Francisco and concluded her 39-year teaching career in the San Diego, California Unified School District. She was also a dorm mother at Penn State as a graduate student and a ten-year volunteer in the Grand Junction, Colorado School.

     Nancy Lee was instrumental in implementing Title IX in the California schools requiring inclusion of all students in school activities.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lane Miller; sisters: Inez Brown Weed, Bernadine Suggs, and Lorraine Vinson; as well as a cousin, Neal Ritchey.

     Nancy is survived by her brother, John Hubert; sister, Mary Lou Drake and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Cremation was chosen and no formal services are planned. Inurnment will be in the Grand Junction, Colorado Veterans Cemetery next to her husband.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nancy’s name may be made to any High School Girls’ Athletic Program or a local food bank. Online condolences may be left at herrmannfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook
