Nadine Putt Donohue Jay

Born Aug. 25th 1929 to Leona (Ward) Putt and Jefferson Putt in Des Arc, Arkansas. She graduated from Be Bee High School in 1948. Nadine married Roy Donohue in 1948. They had five children together. The family made their home in Arkansas, Arizona, and California. Nadine was widowed in 1968. After many years together Nadine married Lyle Jay in 1980. Together they raised two grand daughters and an adoptive daughter. The family moved to Nebraska in 1988 to care for Lyles elderly mother. She was once again widowed in 2000 when Lyle passed away.

Nadine was well known for always welcoming people into her heart, home and family that were in need of some extra love and care. She spent her life devoted to her family and friends. Most people that knew her simply called her Gram, whether or not they were her grandchildren, because she was always that loving Grandma. Her favorite thing to do was to have Sunday dinner at her home with her whole family and extended family in attendance. Her greatest joy was seeing her grandchildren smile and grow.

Nadine was preceded in death by both of her parents, two husbands; Roy and Lyle, three children; son Roy Donohue Junior, son Gary Donohue, and daughter Pamela Donohue Salazar, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by one brother; Leonard Putt of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, son; Ben Donohue and wife Jennie of McKinney, TX; son, Jack Donohue and wife Shawn of Anna, TX; daughter, Christina Davis of Gibbon, NE; grand-daughter Catrina Fimple and husband David of McCook, NE; grand-daughter Diane Hannah and husband Shane Hannah of Cambridge, NE; twelve other grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary on June 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Witt officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Cambridge, NE. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till 7:00 Pm on Friday, June 21, 2013. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
