Michael Eugene Allen

May 22, 1952 — November 6, 2022

Michael Eugene Allen was born on May 22, 1952 in McCook, Nebraska to John Prescott Allen and Betty Jo (Brady) Allen. He was the fifth of seven children. Mike grew up in Oxford, Nebraska and attended Oxford Schools. Michael served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He rose to the rank of Corporal and his service allowed him to see many different places around the world. Mike was stationed in England; it would become his second home. It was in England that he met the love of his life, Sheila Powis. Mike used the computer programing that he learned in the Marine Corps and applied it to a successful career with some of the biggest companies in England. He enjoyed music and loved dancing. Mike was an excellent cook. He didnt let the fact that he was living over 4,000 miles from home stop him from throwing Fourth of July Barbecues and proudly flying the American flag for all to see. Mike was a member of the American Legion and the British Legion. He was a member of the Royal Marines in the United Kingdom and was an active Freemason, belonging to lodges in England and at home in McCook. It was always Mikes dream to retire in Nebraska, and in 2020 he made that dream a reality when he and Sheila moved to McCook. Michael passed away at his home in McCook on Sunday evening, November 6, 2022. His wife, daughter, and stepson were at his side. He was 70 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents.
