May Elizabeth Phillips Lawson passed away November 20, 2015 in Cambridge, Ne at the age of 93. May was born on May 4, 1922 to Harry and Helen (Gammill) Phillips in Frontier County the sixth of seven children. She grew up in the Stockville area. As a young girl May enjoyed playing softball and was an excellent pitcher. From this came her love of baseball. She was united in marriage to Frank E. Lawson on April 21, 1945 in Oberlin, KS. To this union two sons were born, Dennis and Delvin. After marriage they lived in Frontier County until moving to the Bartley area in 1951. She resided here until Franks death in 1978 when she moved to Cambridge. May worked most of her life spending the last 30 years of her employment at the Cambridge Hospital in the Dietary Department. She had many interests but her greatest love was her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, infant grandson Frank Warren Lawson, sisters Eloise Mayo, Beatrice (Tommy) Edge and Maxine Phillips,brothers Willard (Swede) Phillips and Elwood (Shorty) Phillips. Survivors include her sons Dennis of Grand Island, Delvin and wife Virginia of Champion, granddaughters Lynnette Arambula and husband Hector of Yuma, CO: Teresa Lawson of Champion, Carrie Lawson of Indianola, and Denys Stevens of Kearney, great grandchildren James and Erika, Mikah, Riley and Savanah, brother: Ted Phillips and wife Lorene of Kingsland, TX., many nieces, nephews and friends.
