Maryann Mccarter

MaryAnn Pierce-McCarter, (Grandma Mary) of Trenton, Nebraska lost her battle against cancer June 24, 2015 at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska. She was born February 7, 1936 to Ernie and Georgie Pierce. MaryAnn grew up in Eddyville with her four brothers and graduated from Eddyville High School. MaryAnn was married in 1956 and to that marriage three children were born; Deb, Mel and Tina. After several moves MaryAnn settled in Lexington, NE where she was employed at Shoe Mart, Pizza Hut and in her free time babysat. MaryAnn took care of her parents until their passing and moved to Trenton, NE in 2005. While living in Trenton she lived at Court Street Villa for 7 years with her beloved dog Bella. She was recognized as Court Street Villas welcome wagon and baking service. She babysat a lot of kids in town while teaching them how to be social butterflies and took them to town to meet new people. In 2013 she moved in to her home on West B St to live with her family where she enjoyed every minute. She enjoyed watching sports, taking care of her flowers and baking. No one ever left Grandmas house on an empty stomach. Her grandchildren were the center of her life and she was always at all of their sporting events cheering them on. MaryAnn was known as MaryAnns cleaning service and took great pride in cleaning the Community First bank where she was employed for ten years, TAP Ethanol Plant where she was employed for three years and Trenton Ambulance Barn where she was employed for seven years. MaryAnn is proceeded in death by both of her parents Ernest and Georgianna Pierce, two infant daughters, brother; Randy Pierce and Keith Pierce and sister-in-law; Ellen Pierce. She is survived by her daughters; Deb McCarter of Trenton, NE, Mel(Dan) Tappan of Elm Creek, Ne, and Tina Utterback of Trenton, NE. Grandchildren; Eric (Casandra) Tappan, Ashley (Russell) Ridlen, Kristen Garner and Pierce Utterback. Great grandchildren; Morgan Tappan along with special friends: Daniel Arp, Ron Daugherty, Nancy Nichols, Chris Nichols, Nicole Nichols and Karen Wertz. Celebration of life will be Monday June 29, 2015 at 11:00am at the Church of God in Trenton, NE. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be given in her name to be later used to the familys discretion. Hermann-Jones Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com
