Mary Lee Corey

     Mary Lee Corey was born in McCook, Nebraska on June 14, 1941, to Carl and Doris (Cox) Mohr. She was born and raised in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1959.

     Mary Lee married Neal Corey on January 8, 1961, in McCook.

     Mary Lee worked as a telephone operator and bookkeeper and a fair board manager. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and a member of Corps of Discovery: Lewis and Clark. Her hobbies included playing cards and board games with the grandkids, creating stained glass, painting, gardening and traveling.

     Mary Lee passed away on August 21, 2026, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Doris Mohr; daughter, Carrie Lee Corey and brother, Stanley Mohr.

     She is survived by her husband, Neal Corey; sons, Toby (Ginger) Corey and Todd (Kelly) Corey; daughter, Heidi (Corey) Leapley; grandchildren: Mikayla Scapin, Peyton Corey, Sydney Stewart, Samantha, Joshua and Zachary Corey, Corey and Levi Leapley and great-granddaughter, Kenzie Scapin.

     Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2026 at the First Congregational Church in McCook. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook will follow services.
