Mary Anne Farrel John age 80 of Arapahoe, died Friday, June 4, 2010 at her home. Mary Anne was born on April 15, 1930 in Overton, NE to Harry and Margaret (Eliker)Wilson. She was the third child with 2 older sisters: Betty and Norma. Later a younger brother came along, Donalee Sonny. The first two years were spent on a farm east of Overton, then the family moved to a farm east of Wilsonville. During the depression the family lost the farm and moved- to a family owned farm south of McCook. The family returned to the Wilsonville area where Mary Anne attended school and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1948. Mary Anne enlisted in the US Air Force in June of 1951 and was honorably discharged in August 1952. She attended Ranger Jr. College and Durnham Business College on the GI bill. She received a degree in accounting. In August of 1952 she was married to Lee Andrew Harr. To this union a daughter was born: Mary Margaret Sandi Harr. In 1958, she was married to Duane Wilmot and to this union 2 two sons were born: Clifford Duane and Jeffery Lynn. Mary Anne was a member of the American Legion Post of Arapahoe, NE; Quilters Guild, China Painters. She was well known for her Porcelain Dolls ( Dolls by Mary John) and her many fine quilts that she shared with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; Jeffery Lynn; son-in-law: Dennis Kasson and a sister Betty Gill. Mary Anne is survived by her daughter Sandi Kasson and son Clifford Wilmot of Wilsonville, NE; 4 grand children; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Norma and husband Pat Kasson of North Platte; 1 brother Donalee Sonny and wife Ella Wilson of Wilsonville and a brother-in-law Howard Gill of Norton, KS. Funeral Service will be graveside at the Wilsonville Cemetery on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM giving words of comfort will be Kirk Kasson. Military Honors will be done at the graveside. Memorial may be left in her name to either the Wilsonville Cemetery or the Arapahoe Senior Center .Friend may leave condolences at Lockenour Mortuary.Com
