Martha 'Marty' Grabowski

Martha M. "Marty" Grabowski, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, January 16th, 2022 at Windsong Memory Care Facility in Greeley, CO. Marty was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Andrew and Veronica (Markowski) Ziemienski on January 6, 1938. On June 22, 1957, she married Francis J. Grabowski. She moved with her family in 1973 to the McCook community. In addition to raising a family, Marty worked for J. C. Penney and Curly Olneys in McCook. Marty was a faithful and active member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, serving on the Altar Society and volunteering with Helping Hands. While in McCook, Marty attended Mass every day and helped serve funeral luncheons. In 2014, she moved in with her daughter in Loveland, CO. Advancing Alzheimers forced her into memory care in 2019. Preceding her in death were her parents, Andrew and Veronica, her husband, Fran, and daughter, Linda, and many beloved friends, aunts and uncles. Survivors include her three children, Francis "Fran" Grabowski, Jr. and wife, Tammie, of Kalamazoo, MI; Gregory Grabowski of Tallahassee, FL; daughter, Karen and husband, John Kuxhausen, of Loveland, CO; sister, Phyllis Cox of Delaware City, DE; grandchildren: Emmy (Joe) Manko of Baltimore, MD; Andrew (Danielle) Grabowski of Chicago, IL; Kellen (Jill) Seaton of Grand Rapids, MI; Michael Grabowski of Jacksonville, FL; Justin (Olivia) Grabowski of Columbia, SC; Marta Grabowski of Kalamazoo, MI; Nathan Grabowski, of Tallahassee, FL and Joseph (Mandie) Kuxhausen, of Loveland, CO; great-grandchildren Maliha Henderson-West; Alexander Kuxhausen of Loveland and Charlie Grabowski, of Chicago; and many friends and family in McCook and Wilmington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. The family will be present from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm to receive friends. A rosary will be recited following the visitation on Thursday at 7:00 pm also at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour celebrating. Interment will follow services in Calvary Cemetery in McCook. For everyones safety, the family asks that masks be worn indoors.
