Marjorie Mildred Trobaugh-Mickelson

Marjorie Trobaugh Mickelson age 94, of North Platte passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at their North Platte Care in North Platte. Marjorie was born on July 26, 1922 on the family homestead near Norman, NE to Swan A. and Violet (Estergard) Holsten. She attended school in Norman. The family moved to Hastings where she met and married Sidney Trobaugh on June 10, 1939, he preceded her in death in 1990.

Marjorie worked in the Richmond Shipyards in CA as "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. Marjorie worked building Liberty ships for the Navy, that her brothers would serve on.

After the war, she moved back to Cambridge, to raise their two sons, Richard and Gaylord along with stepson, Darrell. Marjorie worked In Sids Repair as a shoe cobbler in Cambridge until moving to Ogallala, NE. Marjorie worked as an assembly line laborer for TRW. She was pulled from the assembly line to make electronic parts for the first Lunar Landing. To be closer family, they bought a motel in American Falls, ID. In 1982, moved to North Platte to care for Marjories mother. Marjorie met and married Clarence Mickelson in 1995, he preceded her in death in 2005.

Marjories devoted to volunteering with RSVP (Retired Service Volunteer Program) for over 25 years at the North Platte Senior Center. She loved playing dominoes and cards. She was loved by everyone.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and step father Arthur Bramer; two husbands: Sidney Trobaugh and Clarence Mickelson; step-son: Darrell Trobaugh; brother Roger Holsten; 2 grandsons: Zakk Hanson and Jason Brockman.

Marjorie is survived by her sons: Richard and wife Darlene Trobaugh of San Juan Island, WA; Gaylord Trobaugh of North Platte, NE; brother: Stanley and wife Helen Holsten of Grand Island, NE; 8 grand Children; Rick Hartman; Tammy Hartman, Randy and Amy Hartman; Seanelle and Scott Hanson; Sean and Melody Trobaugh: 7 Great-grandchildren: Jeremy Brockman; Amanda, Matthew, Mitchel Hartman; Jakob, Karenna Hanson; Alec and Ashton Trobaugh Services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10:30 AM, at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary inCambridge, NE. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 10:00 AM till 7:00 PM at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
