Marjorie Lucille Higley

Marjorie 'Lucille' Higley, formerly of Stratton, NE, passed away at the Hillcrest Care Center in McCook on Saturday, December 10, 2022. She was 90 years old. Lucille was born in Stratton, NE on October 21, 1932 to Frank Norris and Marjorie Clarissa (Ross) Miles. She graduated from Stratton High School in 1950. Lucille was united in marriage to Wayne Leroy Higley in Stratton on July 2, 1950. To this union six children were born. The family made their home in Stratton. Wayne and Lucille were members of the Good Sams Club and enjoyed three years wintering in Orlando, Florida and 13 years in Yuma, Arizona. Preceding her in death were her husband, Wayne; parents, Norris and Marjorie; son, Ronald Higley; sisters, Bonnie Renna and Yvonne Foster; brother, Edgar Miles; grandson, Michael Vrbas; great-grandson, Braeden Vrbas; daughter-in-law, Janet Higley; sons-in-law, Bill Brennan and Ron Shepard; mother-in-law, Ruth Richards and father-in-law, Delbert Higley; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Bill Loop. Survivors include daughters, Cheryl Brennan of Stratton; Marjorie Shepard of McCook; sons, Richard Higley of Clifton, CO; Donald Higley and Michael Donovan of San Diego CA; James Higley of Palm Springs, CA; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon Craw of Colorado Springs, CO. In keeping with Lucilles wishes the family chose cremation and a family service will be held at a future date. Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com.
