Marilyn Jeannene Carroll

July 30, 1934 — April 10, 2022

Marilyn Jeannene Carroll, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Loveland, CO- At that time, she left her sister-in-law Norma Carroll, her children Laurie and her husband David Hasenburg, Lisa and her husband Dan Green, and Mark and his wife Jodi Carroll, along widi9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Born July 30, 1934, mid raised in Tekamah, NE, Marilyn grew up on a farm. She leaned early independence in riding a pony to her one-room school and learning to drive to school at an early age- during high school, Marilyn boarded in town while her parents worked on the farm. After graduating High School in Tekamah, Marilyn was the first in her family to attend college. She attended Doane College in Crete, NE. While obtaining a teaching certificate, Marilyn met the love of her life, Frank, and they were married on June 12, 1955. While Frank attended law school in Lincoln, NE, their oldest child, Laurie, was born in November 1956. Marilyn and Frank moved to Grant, NE after Frank graduated from law school. While living in Grant, Marilyn taught school while Frank practiced law. A constant support to her husband, Marilyn also provided office support when Frank started a law practice with Bill Lyons in McCook NE.

Later in life, Frank and Marilyn traveled frequently between their homes in Fort Collins, CO and Cambridge, NE. They were often called 'the traveling parents' by their children, and always laughed when they couldn't be found. Marilyn was the personification of the energizer bunny - always keeping busy. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and was active in PEO and other fraternal societies. Marilyn was always ready for the next adventure where life took her. She never complained and continually saw the glass as half-full. Her positive, encouraging influence continues through her children. A born servant, Marilyn always looked for ways to help others.

Marilyn passionately loved her husband Frank, her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She was the rock of die family who held everything together. Marilyn always had the appropriate words to say to encourage, exhort, and support. Marilyn lives forever in our hearts and is greatly missed.
