Marie A. Upton passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home in Trenton surrounded by her family. She was 94 years old. Marie was born on January 6, 1922 in Morley, England to parents Laurence and Alice Louisa (Eardley) Waring. She was united in marriage to Henry Stewart Angle on June 4, 1948 in Montreal, Canada. He passed away on December 1, 1954. Marie later married Harold Red Upton on September 10, 1959 at McCook, Nebraska. He passed away May 18, 1990. Marie was a 30 year member of the Hitchcock County Historical Society serving in various offices including President and held the designation of Historian. Marie was an integral part of the Hitchcock County Museum volunteering countless hours. Her passion was researching history and genealogy. Marie loved to spend time in her flower garden. Her hands were never idle. If she was sitting you could find her knitting and embroidering. She was a longtime member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Trenton where she taught Sunday School for 19 years and served as a Deacon. Preceding her in death were her parents, Laurence and Alice Waring; her husbands, Henry Angle and Harold "Red" Upton; brother, Sydney Waring; sisters Joan Collier and Norah Farmer and grandson, Wyatt Marshall. Survivors include her sons Henry Angle of Kearney and Laurence Angle and wife Kendra of Lincoln, daughters Susan and husband Steve Marshall of Tucson, AZ, Margaret and husband, Loren Pollmann of Trenton, and Cathy Upton of Trenton; sister, Enid and husband, Joe Marion, of Yuma, AZ; brother, David Waring of Tetbury, England; seven grandchildren, Kami (Bruce) Loeffelholz, TaiLynn (Chris) Wick, Henry J. (Danielle) Angle, Kyle Angle, Ryan (Michelle) Marshall, Max Pollmann (fianc Kara Hughes) and Alex Pollmann; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous family and a host of friends. Memorials may be given in her name to the Hitchcock County Historical Society. Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton. Friends may go online at www.herrmannfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Trenton with Pastor Jean Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Trenton Cemetery.
