Margaret “Maggie” Josephine (Cahill) Dill was born October 21, 1953 in St. Edward, Nebraska to Leo and Jeanne (McLees) Cahill. She was the middle of seven children. She grew up on a farm outside of St. Edward and attended country school until high school. She graduated from St. Edward High School in 1972. Maggie was one of the first girls to get to play Powder Puff Football at St. Edward High School.
Maggie attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design. Lincoln is also where she met her husband, Tom Dill. The two were married on January 4, 1975 and adopted two girls (Jesse and Michelle) whom they loved dearly. Maggie was a devoted mother and wife. She was always making clothes for the girls (and their barbies). She was a talented seamstress, baker, knitter, crafter, and artist. She especially loved to paint and even painted murals on her daughters’ bedroom walls.
Maggie worked at several places throughout her lifetime including starting off as an interior designer after college. She also worked as a para at Chase County Schools and as a CNA at Imperial Parkview Heights Assisted Living Center. She was a 4-H Leader, CCD Teacher, and a member of the St. Patrick’s Altar Society.
