Lynn Eugene Williamson

Lynn Eugene Williamson passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his rural home near Trenton. He was 80 years old. Lynn was born at the family farmhouse east of Trenton on August 26, 1938 to parents Lee and Phyllis (Hertz) Williamson. He attended rural school District 55 through eighth grade and graduated high school from The Abbey School in Canyon City, CO. On October 16, 1956 he entered the US Army and served two years in Germany as an SP4. He was honorably discharged on October 26, 1962. Lynn was united in marriage to Lydia Josephine Socher on March 31, 1959 at Hohenpeissenberg, Germany. To this union three children were born. They made their home near Trenton where Lynn farmed for two years. They moved to Colorado where Lynn worked as a copier service technician until 1990 when they returned to the Trenton community. Lynn was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Hitchcock County Historical Society, where he served as Vice President. He loved to read and never stopped learning. His hobbies included astrology, geology, electronics, and just tinkering. The couple enjoyed traveling across the USA, Germany, as well as a trip to Dominican Republic. Preceding Lynn in death were his parents, Lee and Phyllis Williamson; sister, Lila Gigikos; and brother, Loren Williamson. Survivors include his wife, Lydia Williamson of Trenton; daughter, Heidi and husband, A.J. Fisher, of Thornton, CO; sons, Christopher Williamson and wife, Carolyn, of Trenton and Steve Williamson and wife, Sandie, of Lakewood, CO; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Lorene Link of Englewood, CO; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joyce Williamson of Trenton, John Gigikos of Aurora, CO, Resi and husband, Walter Diernhfer and Rienhold Socher and wife, Irmgard, all of Germany. Memorials may be given in his name to the Hitchcock County Museum/Historical Society. The family will honor Lynns wishes to be cremated. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 1, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Trenton, NE, with Father Chris Miller as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery, Trenton, NE, with full military honors. Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of McCook entrusted with arrangements.
